Run a query against a [PBI] dataset with a Direct Query Table

Hi,

I am trying to run a query againest a PBI dataset that has a link to a Direct Query Table in it.

If i remove that column from the dataset, it works just fine, but as soon as i include it, the Powery Query fails with the error:{"type":1,"value":"Failed to execute the DAX query."}},

Why, and what can i do about this please as I need that column

    According to your description, the error code is "Failed to execute the DAX query.".

    Can you first check if your Dax code can run successfully in Dax Studio?

    Hi Yeuyun Zhang, 

    I can confirm this works perfectly in DAX studio. Having read around, it appears that if you have a direct table link, then you can not use this method which is rubbish given that M$ drives you down this route
