Teams bot having trouble access sharepoint resources in knowledge base

So, i have created an agent in copilot studio, and published that agent both to Microsoft copilot and Microsoft teams, and also defined some sharepoint resources in knowledge base.

When i try test the agent in copilot it is giving me perfect answers.

But when i try to test the same agent in teams it is saying it is not able to find the information in the knowledge base.

I have also enable microsoft entra id authentication.

But then why am i not able to get answers in teams ?

    Hi! This is a known behavior with SharePoint knowledge sources in Teams.

    Why it happens: When using Microsoft Entra ID authentication, the agent needs to access SharePoint on behalf of the signed-in user — but in Teams this delegation doesn't happen automatically unless the right auth mode is set.

    How to fix it:


    1. Go to Settings → Security → Authentication

    2. Set it to "Authenticate with Microsoft" (not "Authenticate manually")

    3. Make sure the scopes Sites.Read.All and Files.Read.All are included

    4. Republish the agent to Teams and wait a few hours

    5. Test in a 1:1 chat — group chats and channels do not support SharePoint knowledge sources by design

    If you're testing in a group chat or channel, that's the issue — it's a platform limitation, not a misconfiguration.

    Couple of things to check before you publish your agent:
     
    1. Ensure you add SharePoint as a Knowledge by going to Copilot Studio and opening your agent, select Knowledge -> Add Knowledge -> SharePoint
    2. Teams uses your live SharePoint permissions to retrieve KB content, so make sure you/your users have read access to the site.
    3. Configure authentication by going to Copilot Studio and open you agent. Select Settings -> Security -> Authentication and select "Authenticate with Microsoft".
     
    4. Also, is the agent published in a channel or a chat?
