Update PAD to latest version

Hello

I'm using PAD version 2.7.49.21099, it's an older version from march or April. I want to update to latest version to use some new features.

I want to be sure that I will not loose any flow and all my flows will be compatible with the new version.

In my actual version I can not see any option to use update, I have to uninstall and install the latest version?

Thanks!

    Thank you. My settings look different. It must be a restriction from my org.

    You should be able to update from within Power Automate Desktop

    I went top the website and found no download link. Would you please add the link to this thread?

    I have never actually tried it. If you are on the same computer, it might actually work. I remember another guy saying his images did t copy over, and I think he was moving his flows to another computer. I’m assuming here, but I believe image recognition is done by saving the image to a file, and the code references that file image, so if you are on the same computer, than you probably have access to that file image and might not having any problems.  I just wanted to list the concern that you might lose UIs or images as a caution, but I’ve never built a flow from a text copy, so I’m not sure.

    Hello @MichaelAnnis

    I'm a little bit worried because yesterday I had some errors saving some flows, it took a long time saving and in the end it showed an error message. Trying again finally the flow was saved OK.

    I have made a copy of all my flows, but I think I'm going to do a backup in text files quickly.

    You say that the backup in text files maybe could be problems recreating UI elements or images, what do you refer exactly?

    Because I have some flows with web recordings and I can recreate without problems.

    For example this:

    Text.ChangeCase Text: TipoCompra NewCase: Text.CaseOption.LowerCase Result=> TipoCompra
    SWITCH TipoCompra
    CASE = $'''comprar'''
    WebAutomation.FormFilling.SelectRadioButton BrowserInstance: Browser Control: appmask['Recording']['input 8']
    CASE = $'''alquilar'''
    WebAutomation.FormFilling.SelectRadioButton BrowserInstance: Browser Control: appmask['Recording']['input 6']
    END

    Thanks!

    Best regards

    Antonio

    Re: Update PAD to latest version

    I should probably take my own advice...I have 33 main flows, who knows how many subflows.😂

    ok  thank you @MichaelAnnis

    I think I'm going to do the backup as you comment, copy and paste each subflow in a text file, I don't want to lose the work of this last 6 months.

    Best regards,

    Antonio

    Re: Update PAD to latest version

    Unfortunately, I have not been able to find where flows are saved.  What you can do is copy each subflow (don't forget about Main) and paste to a text file.  If you were to lose them, you could paste these text back into PAD and get all the commands back.  I believe, in this case, you have to recreate any UI elements or images that you were using.  So, it's not a perfect solution, but it is a start.

    ok thank you @Henrik_M

    do you know if there is an option to save a backup of the flows?

    I read that the flows were saved in OneDrive, but I can not see anything in my OneDrive

    Thanks!
