For a poultry ERP system that includes inventory, production, batch tracking, and traceability, Dataverse is the most suitable strategic platform for long-term

scalability, maintainability, and Power Platform integration.

If budget permits, I would recommend:
    • Designing a migration plan from Microsoft Lists to Dataverse.
    • Reviewing your data model and relationships before migration.
    • Reserving Azure SQL for future analytical or high-volume data requirements rather than as the primary transactional system.
This approach provides the best balance of performance, scalability, security, maintainability, and alignment with Microsoft's long-term Power Platform roadmap.

Dataverse is a relational database based on Microsoft Azure SQL server architecture with additional layers for security, metadata, and app integration and is actually the optimum data source for Power Apps, being specifically designed for it.

Lists (SharePoint) is a robust platform for smaller data sets (with some Delegation limitations as you have mentioned) with a lower cost. If you have already migrated to Dataverse, I would recommend that you remain with it.
