Data cache not syncing to updates

When will there be a resolution on the cache for data connections not being in sync with updates to the actual data. You patch a record in a SQL table and that connection does not reflect the changes to other areas in the app using that connection. If you do a Refresh() immediately after the patch, it doesn't reflect the changes. You have to set a timer somewhere in the app to go off every few seconds to get the data to sync correctly. I am absolutely positive that others are having this same issue. I am really tired of spending a rediculous amount of time debugging around this and coding around this. It also makes the app slower by constantly having to refresh.

    Hi @DevelopAlways ,

    Do you want to extend the interval time of refreshing data?

    I suggest you turn this function on:

    File->App settings->Advanced settings7225.PNG

    Best regards,

    I don't think you understand what I'm saying here. Let's say I have a list screen that displays data from 'dbo.Table' SQL data connection. I go to a detail screen and add a record or change a record in that same data connection. Unless you do a refresh (which doesn't work if you do it immediately after the update or patch statement), the list won't be updated. You have to set a timer to refresh the data. I can't believe that there isn't anyone else out there that has to use this same pattern. It's rediculous and has caused probably more hours for people to debug their apps to figure out what's going on. At the system level, Powerapps is not updating it's cache like it should. As a matter of fact, forget the cache, I don't want it. Let me decide when to use caching or not. I need my apps to represent the state of data as it is in the database at the time it is changed from the same user that caused the change. Is that too much to ask for?

    As usual, no answer here. Like everything else, an architectural issue that nobodoy knows anything about. So does anyone know why this issue occurs besides poor design and implementation, or is this just another defect that nobody wants to deal with?

    Where are all you Powerapps experts that post useless Youtube videos on uploading images to Sharepoint that so many business users want and need to promote their careers?
