Pretty sure they completely misunderstood your question and suggested a solution on how to do the exact opposite of what you need - i.e. convert existing Excel files into a zipped archive.
There is no direct way to convert a zip file into an Excel file, as those are completely different files. But what you might want to start with is the Unzip files action under the "Compression" actions group. You can use this to extract the files in your zipped archive.
Then, once you've done that, the next step really depends on what's inside the zipped archive. If it's an Excel file, you're already done. If it's something else, you will need to read the contents somehow and then write it into a new Excel file by using the Excel actions.
