Combobox Multiple Select in Forms

(0) ShareShare
ReportReport
Posted on by Microsoft Employee

Hello,

Scenario:

  • Sharepoint list with Person-type column
  • Form control with combobox to search for people
    • Multiple select set to true
    • I'm able to select multiple people
  • When form is submitted, only one of the names is written to the Sharepoint list

How do I get the multiple selected items into the Sharepoint list?

Thank you!

Is you person column in SharePoint set to allow multiple values?

    Hi @ericonline

Are you using the form control

If Yes then did you make any customizations to the data card?

The default behavior of the form control for a multi select peerson column should work

Thanks @Jeff_Thorpe . The Sharepoint column was NOT set to "Allow multiple".

    • Strangely, after I set the column to "Allow multiple" NO names show up in the column!
    • If I remove Allow multiple, one name shows up.

Going to have to dig deeper...

Hi @RezaDorrani , Yes, the Form control is customized. I'm thinking i'll have to adjust the Update property from xyz.Selected.Displayname to xyz.SelectedItems.

Going to try that they report back.

    Hi @ericonline

Did you have any luck with getting this to work after switching to "xyz.SelectedItems." ?

I am having similar issues with blanks showing up on my cascading multi-select combo boxes.

    Please let me know.

    Thanks
