Power Apps licenses in a Dynamics 365 CE environment?

Hi all,

We're looking at adding a model-driven power app into our existing Dynamics 365 CE environment...

We already have a number of users with a Customer Engagement Plan license, running the 'full' Sales experience (they use the Sales Hub app).

Now we want to create a model-driven power app for a new group of users. This app will only contain Account, Contact and Activity entities. As far as we interpret the licensing guide, these user would only require a Power Apps per-app license (since these users will have only this 1 app).
Is this correct?

And is there anyway to make sure we're not violating any license conditions with this setup (roughly 20% of the users with 'full license' and 80% with the PowerApp license)? We're not really comfortable relying on our own interpretations of a document...

Would you recommend this approach? Or do you think there is a big risk that Microsoft will require a more expensive license for this scenario in the near future?

PowerApps is included with the 20% of users who have full Dynamics CE licensing and the remaining 80% would be able to use the data by purchasing the per app plan you mentioned (Dynamics is a premium connector).

In general, PowerApps will ensure you have the proper licensing and if not disallow the user from using the app.  The best person to speak to about these questions is your licensing provider.  They already know the specifics of your organization's licensing and would likely provide a better response than this forum.

Asking for speculation on Microsoft's future pricing of PowerApps + Dynamics will not yield any useful information.  Anyone who says they can predict the future would be lying.  It is 100% up to you whether to rely on the Power Platform or not.  I'm not saying this in a rude tone of voice, I am simply being blunt.
