Save the data to the certain point

Hi Team,

I am building Self Rating app where in user rates himself for 10 different questions and I have made an textinput as an mandatory filed until the user comments he is not allowed to submit.

But I need to change the logic little bit as I need to give them a save button where this save button will save the data till some point before submitting it.

Basically user can come into the app and fill his rating and store them until he finally submits it.

Thanks in advance !

    You could use a secondary copy of your datasource and name it to indicate its the staging item, when you hit save, it patches it to that list instead of your actual list, then you have a separate button for submit, that is only visible when all required items are filled which then patches it to the final list (I assume you have some kind of flow trigger running on the actual list hence you dont want it to save to that list prematurely)

    Hi @raassd ,

    Assuming you are using SharePoint here and the Form is initially in New mode, you can have a Save button then OnSuccess of the Form

    UpdateContext({varID: Self.LastSubmit.ID});
    EditForm(Self)

    then the Item of the Form

    LookUp(
     SPListName,
     ID = varID
    )

     This will display the record created in an edit screen and you can save as many times as you want after this.

    I think I preferred your solution! If there's no need to worry about the data not saving when the user exits the app then its perfect.

    I was thinking too much about if a user exits the app and the data wouldnt be saved so in that case have a staging copy of the data that is then patched back when they finally submit

    Could you provide some screenshots and code snippets to let me know how you are currently handling the saving of the data?
