Dear Community,

If I want to run power automate desktop flows with in user machines or VM or any machine ( attended or unattended mode ) , do I need to install complete power automate desktop software which contain the development console or do I have any run time software where there won't be any console available ?

Thanks,

I have the same question (0)

    Hi @vamsi_varanasi,

Depends a bit on what you plan to do with your automations.

But I would install PAD on the VM/machine because the installer also installs the Power Automate browsers extensions which can be useful for the web application actions. Also could be useful for troubleshooting when something works on your own machine and it doesn't work on the VM.

    I would check this article:

    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-automate/desktop-flows/setup#install-the-on-premises-data-gateway-to-run-your-desktop-flows-from-the-cloud

    Hope this helps a bit?

    Thanks for your response @Expiscornovus.

I though Microsoft have a runner software to install in users machine ( which can't have the developer designer instance to code ) and developer have a designer to develop the code. so now I understand that both business user machine\VM and the developer machine would have the same PAD software.
