How can I redirect my original question to the Generative AI?

Hey Everyone,

So I just started testing out Copilot Studio, it has a lot of getting information from SharePoint Sites so I decided to use uploaded files normally, the problem that I am facing is that I want to create some nodes where I ask a question (e.g. How many vacation days do I get?) and then a multi choice should appear (e.g. Manager, Employee) When I pick Employee for example Copilot answer from the document based on my last answer and not based on my original question, so how do I redirect it to my original question?

Hi,

What is happening is, when you redirect the topic to conversation boosting, the copilot seems to take the choice value as the prompt input and based on that you are getting your answer. You should set a variable (varInputPrompt) based on the choice the user selected.

For example if the user selected Manager, set the variable varInputPrompt to "How many vacation days does a Manager get?" and pass this variable as input to the Conversation Boosting topic to get the relevant result.

So in this scenario you are essentially switching the input prompt based on the user selection.

This is quite straight forward.

You can just store the user Response in a Variable and then pass it on to the Conversational Boosting.

You can fix this by adding the ‘Create generative answers’ node. Just set the input to Activity.Text, which is the original question. I tested it out, and it works perfectly!

You can also create a new variable that combines the original question with the user’s selection, and then send this to the ‘Create generative answers’ node.
