CDS errors when creating a database in personal environment

When trying to create a database in my personal environment, I get this error "Provision cannot be performed because there is no linked CDS instance or the CDS instance version is not supported."

Worse, when my administrator viewed my environment, they could view a standard database, where my portal couldn't find one.

I have the power apps for developer license.

Thank you

    Did you spot a solution?

Encountered the same error when doing:

In my case creating a new environment with type Trial (subscription-based) fixed the CDS issue.

The default environment was owned by SYSTEM, whereas the new one was owned by me.

I was also having this issue. I resolved it by going to the Power Apps Developer Plan page (Power Apps Developer Plan | Microsoft Power Apps) and clicking the "Get started free" button.  I believe I clicked the "Existing user? Add a dev environment" the first time, which seems like it created the environment but did configure it.
