Populate Word Document

Hello there,

I have created one MS Form and am taking all the response details to Power automate to create an automated word document.

I am using the "Populate Word Document" options in power automate as shown in the attached image. I am getting an error that is also attached as an image.

Is this the proper way to create an automated word document every single time a new form is submitted?

    Hi @geothermusa ,

Populate word document does not create a new word file. First create a word template and save it to OneDrive/SharePoint, then update template using Populate word document and create a new file using Create File connector.

    Hi Kaif,

The solution seems clear to me, just have a question for you.

How do I add a word document template in the "populate word document"?

Could you show me the screenshot please

    Thank you

    Hi @geothermusa ,

Save the word document to SharePoint/OneDrive and add a connector to get file content. Fill the template fields using "populate word document". Now create a word document from saved word template.

Simple words - You have a word template saved in SharePoint/OneDrive. Open the file and edit content as per requirements and SaveAs the file with new name. In this case, the template will remain unchanged and a new file will be created using template with updated contents. Similar activity need to perform using power automate.

Create a word document from a template in Power Automate. Here Microsoft Word connector has been used but it will give you overall idea to build the flow.
