Hi,
I am working on a project with Power Automate Cloud Flow and have to populate online excel with Office Scripts.
However, I don't see any Automate bar in excel online. so I checked with the IT team who has the access to microsoft admin center. and he said that Office scripts have already been enabled for a long time.
My question is how can I see the Automate bar in excel online? I can't move forward without the functionality of Office Scripts.
Thanks,
Anya
Nice! Glad there's a path forward and you know what you need. Tom
Hi @trice602 ,
Thank you for your kindly help. I have checked with a colleague who has E3 license and is able to utilize Office Scripts. So that's probably the root cause. I'll contact with the IT team to upgrade my license.
Thanks @Anya0601 for sharing. Ok, I believe that is the root cause. E1 does not come with Office Script access and don't think this is an Excel version issue. I would ask your I/T department to upgrade you to an E3 and see if that solves this for you.
You can maybe also share this link with your I/T department:

Thank you @trice602
Just one clarification, I'm actually using Excel for the web to do cosmetic changes and data manipulations for my tables, and then connect to Power Automate flows for other operations. Does that mean I can't have Automate ribbon (Office Scripts) in Excel for the web when I have Excel Desktop app which is incompatible given my IT tenant admin has already activated the function?
Cheers.
Hi @Anya0601 ,
I don't think it is available for a stand-alone version and is the root cause. Please see documentation for clarification:

Hi,
I tried that and failed to see any automate tab neither under Developer nor in the left side.
And I use Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2016.
Hi @Anya0601 ,
Can you confirm this is checked in your Options > Customize Ribbon > Automate (may also be under Developer tab in earlier versions)?
This is in your Excel application, not in your browser.
