Get current items value from SharePoint

Hi

I am a total beginner of power apps, so sorry for dumb question.

I have a list called people in SharePoint with values: name, surname, email.

I want to make power app where after selecting a person it goes to new screen where i have 3 buttons, after clicking button it should send email with predefined title and body to email address from the SharePoint list. I want to use power automate.

I created a powerapp, added buttons, and created flows but i struggle with calling the element from the list and not giving values to title and body in PA.

Thanks in advance

What goes there will depend on what you "ask PowerApps" for in your flow.

When you select an "Ask in PowerApps" in the flow design, that becomes a parameter to your flow run.

I hope this is helpful for you.

In power apps i am asking for email address and it is a value of current item column e-mail. I tried ThisItem.e-mail, and people.e-mail but it is not working.

When I say "ask in PowerApps" I am specifically referring to your flow design and selecting that for a parameter.

When you type in yourFlow.Run( - at the point that you put in the opening paren, the formula editor will tell you exactly what parameters it is expecting.

If you see no parameters and yet you have defined some in your flow, then you need to remove the flow from the datasources list in your app and then add it back in.  The parameter signature will not update automatically when you change things in flow...it has to be removed and added back.

Is this in a Gallery?  You mention that you have a column in your list for email, so if that is the case, then you would use ThisItem.Email

If this is NOT in a gallery, then you need to reference the current record you are working with.  You would need to explain your app a little more to understand what you have and make a suggestion beyond that.

    Hi Randy.

Thanks a lot for helping me out You are a Legend.

I will walk You through my process.

I have a simple list in Sharepoint:

    AgileGrrrrrg_0-1641898004448.png

Directly from Sharepoint i clicked on Integrate>Power_Automate>create new App

This is what i ended up with:

In Power Automate i created flow:

What i want the app to do is.

    1. I choose a person (record) from first screen and click on >

    2. It goes to second screen with details about record and a button:

3.Once i click on the button the flow is sending an e-mail to this person.

As i mentioned i tried flowname.Run(ThisItem.'e-mail') but it doesnt work.

I tried to pass email adress directly - flowname.Run(random@email.com) and i got the message so it works.

What is it I am doing wrong? When i highlight the e-mail section on screen 2 of the app i can see that it refers to ThisItem.'e-mail'

    Many thanks for Your help.

App is very simple it made from directly from SharePoint list with integrate>Power Automate> create na App

    This is the list:

    This is the flow:

    AgileGrrrrrg_1-1641903287048.png

In app on second screen i created a button.

    AgileGrrrrrg_2-1641903319042.png

After clicking on it I would like a flow to send e-mail to this address.

I tried FlowName.Run(ThisItem.'e-mail') and it doesnt work.

I tried to give it random email just for test FlowName.Run(Random@mail.com) and it works.

Thanks a lot for Your help

    Greg

Yes, so your button is outside of your form and there is no gallery there, so what is the name of the TextInput control (or Label) that is on your form that contains the email address (from looking at your image)?
