Hi Experts,

I have created one security role in which I have given full access to the "Contact" Entity so that user can have all access to that entity.

I have also given access to Model-driven app, because user having access to model driven app and they need to modify the contact records and change the password from there.

But User is not getting change password option and also they are not able to view the UserName field (it is in locked state):
User Name lockedUser Name locked

What Privileges required to have access to change the password and also view the User name of the contacts?

Any help will be appreciable.

Thanks,

Amit

    Hi @Anonymous ,

From my test, I found that System Administrator is the only role that has ability to unlock the User Name field of Contact and Change the password.

What an interesting  thing is that even a copied role from System Administrator with the absolutely the same privileges still can't unlock the User Name field to see it. I can't find a reason to explain the situation at present, but It's sure that System Administrator Role can accomplish your purpose.

    Hope this helps.

    Hi @v-siky-msft

    Thanks for your response.

But I can't give the user a System Administrator role because if I gave that role then they will have all the access and which I don't want.

I want to create a new security role and want to give only contact entity access so that the user can access that Entity from model driven app and can change the password, do some changes & can able to see the username.

Please help me with this issue.

    Thanks,

    Amit

    Hi @Anonymous ,

Yes, I know, but even I created a new role with the same privileges with System Administrator, It still can't be able to see the User Name.

I would suggest you submit a Support Ticket to Microsoft for further assistance.

I know it's an old post. you need to edit the column name (username in English ?) and untick Enable column security.

No need to give privilege system administrator
