Binding a code app onto a model driven app page

Hi everyone,

I am trying to embed a code app on the account form in D365 Sales and want the code app to bind to the account which has been selected, this is something you can do in canvas apps or with generative pages, but I have been unsuccessful in my attempts with code apps.

Has anyone managed to achieve this?

Thanks
Tristan

This is currently not supported. There's been a lot of feedback asking for this feature to be added, so hopefully this will be added at a future date.

The closest workaround is to embed the code app in an iframe. However, the contextual link to selected record won't be there, which is what you're looking for.

Yeah unfortunately this isn't natively supported right now — timl confirmed it. The iframe option exists but you lose the record context which defeats the purpose.

Best bet for now is the deep link approach from that blog — basically pass the account ID as a query param into the code app. Not perfect but it gets the job done until Microsoft adds proper support for this. Definitely worth voting for it on the Ideas forum.
