Modern dropdown control_defaultselecteditems

Hi Guys, I am facing strange issue with my gallery with dropdown feature (modern/ preview).

I have a vertical gallery with 50 items in it. On each item I have dropdown, under DefaultSelectedItems i have mentioned as [ThisItem.WinnerChoice]. this looks fine on upfront. Sometimes very first item in gallery shows blank though there is Thisitem.WinnerChoice exists. It works well for all other items in gallery. It is only problem with first item in gallery. appears like buffer issue or similar.

I have tried with lookup as well. it is same behaviour, sometimes first item in gallery have this problem. it is like 70% of the time it works.

Anyone seen this issue before or any ideas to trouble shoot this.

Hi @mgopic ,

Firstly does the same function work in a Classic Control ? If so, I suggest you revert to that for the moment - Modern Controls are mostly still in preview and can be inconsistent - I have not yet used any on Prod apps.

Thanks @WarrenBelz . This works fine in classic control. It looks first item in the gallery have an issue for modern dropdown control. Text label works fine again, it is only drop down control where we define it as record [ThisItem.Winner]. Will wait for MS to fix.

@mgopic I tried modern dropdown in one of my apps and I can confirm I experienced the same issue as well as the issue with random wiping of the data displayed when I added an element to the collection behind the gallery. One more thing that I noticed is that sometimes Default Item is added to the dropdown at the end even it was present in the collection behind the items already.

I ended up creating my PCF dropdown control to address my requirements.
