Custom Power App no longer adding items to connected Sharepoint list

So I messed with this setting:

And now my app is not connected to the list (or so it seems) because it's no longer adding new items to the list.

If I click "use a custom form created in PowerApps, it creates a new app, not the one I want connected to the list. It used to work. How do I get it using a specific power app as the form instead of what it's trying to do now?

If you click Use a custom form it should default back to your custom form unless you deleted it.

Yes, I know about that, but when I click that option, it just creates a new app. The one that used to work is still there in my list of apps in power apps, but the list is not using that form even though the power app has a connection to that list and all the fields are there.

It used to work before I messed with the form settings. I've opened a support ticket, so maybe they can help.

Sorry, I don't understand. Do you mean a SharePoint form edited in Power Apps or an app created using the Power Apps Studio. There is a difference. The form does not appear as an app in the Power Apps list as far as I can tell.

How were you playing this app, form SharePoint or from the apps list?

I was playing the app from the list of apps on the Power apps home page. I was able to create an app and link it to the sharepoint list and it was working. I guess I did not create the app from the list settings > form settings > custom power app link in the classic settings of the list. I think I just created a blank canvas app and then added a form that was connected to my sharepoint list. As soon as I (stupidly) messed with these form settings of the sharepoint list, my power app is no longer adding items to the list.

I used the Monitor feature of the power app to try to debug it and I did see errors on submit but the error message just says that there is an error, it is the most vague, most unhelpful error message ever LOL. Does this information clarify my situation a bit better?

So basically I just made a blank canvas app, chose the approval app template and then linked that form in the template to my sharepoint list. It was working to add items to my list and now it does not add items to my list after list form settings changed.

Changing those form settings would not affect Power Apps.

Try generating a sample app in Power Apps starting with data using the SharePoint list,

If that works, edit the existing app choose Data in the leftmost column menu of Power Apps studio and refresh the SharePoint table then test it again.
