Behavior of the Run Function in Power Fx for Model-driven Apps

Hello!

I’m developing a line-of-business application.
It is a typical order management system where, after an order is received, warehouse staff perform picking operations and generate delivery notes.
In the model-driven app, the picking status in the Dataverse Orders table is updated to “Packed.”
This status change is intended to trigger a flow that inserts a new row into the Delivery Notes table.

I added a new button to the command bar and would like to trigger the flow from that custom command.

Although I configured a Power Apps (V2) trigger in Power Automate, the  function in Power Fx does not execute from the model-driven app.

Additionally, I cannot find any option in the command bar editor to bind or configure a V2 trigger.

Is it possible that the  function for model-driven apps has not yet been rolled out in the Japan region?

If that’s the case, perhaps I should simply implement the flow using a table-change trigger instead.

Hmm, there are several reasons it might not be rolled out to you (I am not saying its not) just that it might be:
    1) region
    2) tenant type
    3) environment update Cadence (early adopter etc)
    4) Its preview so any of the above could be the reason, if it was GA, then they would state more clearly (usually)which regions and tenant types is NOT in.

Any of these can be the reason you don't see it, I didn't find any documents that specifically said its NOT in Japan so I cannot speak to whether that is intentional or not, simply explaining the options that would block it.

Personally, unless there is a reason to NOT trigger it right away, then use I would use a Trigger for when the table row changes (or added) whatever, and even a trigger condition for that field's value if you want.

That or in your button use an HTTP call to trigger the flow.

If these suggestions help resolve your issue, Please consider Marking the answer as such and also maybe a like.

    Thank you!
    Sincerely, Michael Gernaey
