Cannot find an existing custom security Role

I am updating an production use canvas app. I checked the App is shared to multiple users. The users have Data Acess "Trading Team" + Basic User

However, I cannot find the role "Trading Team" under environment settings > Security Roles.

I am going to using a custom table call "remark" in the solution. The Basic users role have NONE permission on "remark" table. I cannot modify it because [The Basic User role privileges cannot be adjusted due to its non-customizable nature.]

I cannot modify "Trading Team" role beacause I cannot find it.

What's the potential issue? I am the Power Platform administrator and App owner. I am also the System Administrator of the environment.

Is Trading Team a team configuration or a security role?

Can you check the Power Platform Admin Centre? The highlighted option should display any Teams configured.

I have checked "Trading Team" is not listed under the Teams (the highlight in your screen capture)

Also, if I goto PROD env -> Settings -> Users. Then click on any of existing App users. The right panel will prompt up. Under "Direct Assigned Role" there are "Trading Team" & Basic User. So I think it is a Role?

Is it possible the "Trading Team" was created by ex-developer so I cannot see this role?

Hi Ronald,

Thank you for your tips! I am able to find the security role on the page in your screenshot.

However the role is only existing in PROD but not in DEV.

In order to fix the different between DEV and PROD, should I manually create a role with exactly same name "Trading Team" in DEV and add to solution? Will it create a duplicate role if I roll out the solution from DEV to PROD?

I am actually not sure, but I believe adding the role to DEV then exporting the solution will create a new security role with the same display name but a different unique name (generated by the system). Internally roles are identified by the unique name so this will not solve your issue.

You may have to identify how the role is used in PROD create a new security role in DEV and add the users to this new role. The roles should be the same across your DEV, TEST and PROD environments so that you can perform proper testing practices.

If you don't want to do this then you could create a new role in DEV (which will be exported with the solution) to manage access for your new table, but you should still address the mismatch in the short term rather than pushing it down the road.

Hi,

You can simply Go to advance find and Look for Security Role and Filter with Name Contains "Your Team Name", validate if exists. I feel the Custom Role is not available i feel.
