Canvas - Sharepoint list - Photos resolution

Hi, I have an issue with the resolution of the photos that I'm taking through the app.

I developed a canvas powerapp, with a "edit form" that's connected to a Sharepoint list that has columns of type "image". My app is capable of registering photos in the sharepoint list, but the resolution of the images is really low, the resolution of the images is closer to 2400 pixels and after I submit them through the app, the images have around 400 pixels.

I have tested this connected and disconnected from wifi and also I have validated if there¡s a difference on taking the photo or selecting it from the gallery, and nothing works.

Not sure if this is something that powerapps does or sharepoint does, but definitely there's a huge resolution reduction.

What could I do to avoid the reduction of resolution?

Firstly try what Nandit has suggested and it may work for you.

I have a number of customers who take large numbers of good-resolution photos and I store them either in SharePoint Libraries or as attachments to the SharePoint List (I use Power automate for both) and have never had any issues over many years storing, retrieving or viewing them. I have a blog that may be useful to you.

Hello @nandit @warrenbelz

Before trying the power automate instant flow, I would like to understand why the first pictures I added to my sharepoint list through the app have a 2400 pixels resolution and these latests one have a 400 pixels resolution.

I want my pictures to have the same resolution as the first images I added.

Is like sharepoint is pushing the reduction of the resolution and that's what I want to block. Is this possible?

There are a number of "quirks" with Image columns - I think you have found another one. I was simply giving you alternatives that I know reliably work.

I am experiencing the same issue.

I have a Canvas app in production that displays images from a Sharepoint List. It has been working fine since May 2024. Recently, one of the images was updated in the list, and now it is not displaying the correct size in the app. I reverted back to the previous image and it's still displaying incorrectly.

It doesn't matter what size image or resolution I add. It still displays much smaller and lower quality.
