We used to be able to access the DisplayMode property of containers by selecting another control first, and then adding the container(s) to the collection. Today, as I am going to edit some container display-modes for additional functionality, I discovered that this method no longer works. I thought it was because of the new FormulaFX editor.. (which is annoying in its own ways!) So I disabled it, and I discovered that is not the issue.. so I downloaded my app and opened it in 7-Zip, and I see that the DisplayMode property is still there on the container controls.
Any pros know what's going on here? Why can't I access the DisplayMode property anymore? Is there another setting I missed? I didn't see anything related in Settings.. (besides the editor, which seems to be a dead-end) Is there an authoring version I can switch to that will fix it?
I found it! It was hidden right in front of my eyes on the Advanced tab.
NOTE: You still have to select multiple containers, but you don't seem to have to select any other types of controls anymore.
Also note (ugh): This method does not work with the new FormulaFx editor. There seems to be no way to access the DisplayMode property of containers while using the new FormulaFx editor, so if you want to edit your container DisplayMode properties, you will have to enable the Legacy formula bar to do it.
