I assume what you're saying is that Patching to a SharePoint image column from a collection, compared to the previous method of Patching Base64 encoded image content to a SharePoint text column from a collection is more straightforward. In this case, there's nothing I can think of that you should be aware of. This is a properly supported way of conducting this task and is far more efficient than the previous approach.

does it have to be from a collection? for outside of collections this is the best was to do it (at least in my point of view)
