Distinct/Unique Dropdown Input

Greetings! I am relatively new to Power Apps but with my PowerBI Background find it mostly intuitive. I'm encountering an issue getting my Dropdown Input to only display Unique/Distinct values. There are two functions I've come across via my research that the community seems to leverage for this type of problem/solution: Distinct & Choices.

Distinct Function

While i can use this function successfully it results in blanking out the selection options entirely.

Choices Function
I cant get this function to work whatsoever.

Please refer to my attached images and let me know if i can test or provide further information. I appreciate you taking the time to review this!

    Hi @rpboyer

From my understanding of your photos provided, you want to filter a gallery based on a dropdown that shows the choices available from a choice column.

Could you please also tell me what data source you are using? Dataverse/sharepoint?

    Hi @AARON_C

For Clarification: yes i do want to filter the gallery below. However, the precise issue is that i cant make the Input Options Unique and Visible for the Input. I cant get the Choices function to work for me at all for some reason. And while i can get it to accept my Distinct Function formula & it looks like it shortens the lists to less then what i have when no function is used at all, each option is blank.

The data source I'm using is a Sharepoint list

I ultimately tested the functionality of the dropdown in a new blank power app to isolate the issue. It worked just fine. I then started to rebuild the entire app looking to uncover the issue... but i never found it. The new app works just fine so i dont know if i should close this?
