Building an agent for building powerpoint in company native templates

Hi,

I am building a copilot agent that would build powerpoint using company native slides. The current process we have is using copilot within powerpoint to build powerpoints. I want it so that we have an agent where the user just prompts and the agent returns the built powerpoint. How can I replicate this process of manually doing the above process but have it automated by an agent. Thanks!

I have actually tried something similar to this but the issues is that when it comes content, it is not really dynamic. I want it to be dynamic. So currently when I open PowerPoint, I can directly go into copilot and ask it to create a company branded something on a topic I want to replicate that, but instead of using the Microsoft UI interface, I want it to have it as an agent instead I'm exploring an architecture for an internal AI-powered PowerPoint generation tool and would love some guidance from anyone who has built something similar. Today, Microsoft 365 Copilot already does something close to what I want. A user can go into Microsoft 365 Copilot (or PowerPoint with Copilot), provide a prompt such as: and Copilot will generate a reasonably good deck with strong slide structure, content flow, and storytelling. The challenge is that I want to make this capability available through a custom agent rather than requiring users to open Microsoft 365 Copilot or PowerPoint directly. My ideal workflow would look something like: User interacts with a custom AI agent. User enters a topic or business request. Agent sends the request to Microsoft's AI capabilities. AI generates the presentation content. The resulting presentation is built using our company's approved PowerPoint templates and branding standards. User receives a downloadable PPTX. I've already experimented with a custom backend that: Generates structured slide JSON. Maps content into predefined PowerPoint layouts. Uses company-approved slide templates. Produces a branded PPTX. The problem is that while the template fidelity is excellent, the content generation and slide planning are not as strong as what I see from Microsoft 365 Copilot when creating presentations directly.

Hi,

You can’t fully replicate “Copilot in PowerPoint” directly in Copilot Studio today, but you can automate it with a combination of tools:

Use Copilot Studio agent → triggers a Power Automate flow

In the flow, use:

PowerPoint Online (Business) or Graph API to create a presentation from a template (company slides)

Optionally use Azure OpenAI / Copilot outputs to generate content (titles, bullets)

Store the file in SharePoint/OneDrive and return the link to the user
