Usually, we change the status of a record from Active to Inactive and then set the status reason for the change. I need to do the reverse: set the status reason which will automatically set the status.
I have a custom Activity, Assessment where I'm using status reason to hold the result of the assessment. The status/status reason groups are as follows:
Status: Open
Reasons:
Status: Complete
Reasons:
Status: Cancelled
Reasons:
Status: Scheduled
Reasons:
When an assessor opens the assessment, they should be able to choose from any of the status reasons in Open or Complete. Right now, they have to set status = Complete before they can see the options they need. It's very counter-intuitive for the user.
Is it possible to use a custom activity the way I've described? If so, how? If not, what is a better approach?
Hello @halifaxious,
As per OOB Behaviour, Status and Status Reason is interrelated, based on Status only Status Reason will get load, we cannot reverse it.
Instead as per your requirement we can use Custom field to achieve this, then Based on Custom Field modify we can trigger a Synchronous Workflow to set the status accordingly.
