Power Automate Desktop: Set the checkbox state in the window in which the window title changes dynamically (UI automation - Form filling)

Hi All,

I'm trying to create a flow where it checks the status of the checkbox for multiple windows (i.e. Windows app which changes the title dynamically). Currently, "set checkbox state window" in power automate desktop will allow to select form app window with the static title, but I need for desktop app window which changes title dynamically.

For e.g. In "Set checkbox state in the window", if we choose with Title "Demo App" and if that window changes its title to "Project A - Demo App" then "Set checkbox state in the window" unable to find the window.

Is there any possible way to get the result I needed?. So, any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Hi Barani,

Use the Action 'Get Window' and copy the window title variable , then use the action 'Set Window State' and past the variable .

To get the required effect, I recommend doing what Adhil_08 suggested, but also using an "If Image exists" followed by a "Move mouse to image" action that checks for the checkbox image on screen and clicks on it (if there are multiple checkboxes designs, you can put multiple images in and tell it to check for each one until it finds one) don't be afraid of the reliability of this action as its honestly quite good at the moment and faster in some cases than UI element detection.

The reason I'm telling you to do this is because unfortunately I don't think there's a plausible way at the moment to make a dynamic title system unless everything in the title selector is exactly the same i.e. only the title changes in the selector and the rest of the path for the selector is exactly the same,, if that's the case use a custom selector, (I can help with that if needed)
