If I need to do this, then I will not use mouse clicks for doing these steps (selecting date, month, year). Because you just need to focus on the textbox and using Populate text into a field or Send keys action with a correct date format then I think it is better than mouse clicks unless you can't do this for some reasons. If you do mouse clicks, then there will be more steps need to implement and more likely to get errors on screen.
