Copy data from one excel to another excel file

Hi

I am new to this PAD and just started working on.

I usually download the excel attachment from email and copy data then paste to my excel report saved in my desktop.

I figured retrieving email/get files using PAD. But the filename is dynamic and unable to run everyday without manual selection of files.

For Ex:

Filename is PL_13556433215.xlsx

2nd day Filename is PL_5464385654656.xlsx

and so on.

Tried rename the files by replace text with wild card character(PL*) but not working.

Any solution will be much helpful.

Thanks

Jafer

    Get files from folder:  PL_*.xlsx

On the "Get files from folder" parameter box, click Advanced.  Here you can SORT by LAST MODIFIED, DESCENDING.

Now, your latest PL_ file will always be %Files[0]% indicating the first file in the list.

Thank you @MichaelAnnis . That works well.

I have one more query. Is there any option to open two excel file at the same time and extract the data to other excel files?

Yes. Although I personally use Excel VBA for anything that is strictly in Excel.  It is must faster and easier to build, but if you just want to copy a specific range from one sheet and paste it in another sheet in a different workbook, you can build that pretty easy using the excel actions available in PAD.

Thank you @MichaelAnnis I will work on Excel VBA then.
