Web forum filling UI Selector Selecting incorrect UI Element

Hello,

I am experiencing an issue with the Web forum filling's UI Selector.

Unfortunately, the Browser automation Web forum filling's UI Selector is displaying/clicking/filling the Element underneath the actual element.

This is is only with the Web forum filling's UI Selector, The UI automation "Click UI element in window" or "Populate text field in window" the selector selects the exact element perfectly.

Please see attached screenshots for better understanding.

In the example bellow, I am trying to select the Top First box, although the Browser automation Web forum filling's UI Selector is selecting about 200 pixels down from the correct selection.

In the example bellow, I am trying to select the Top First box, and UI automation's "Click UI element in window" selects the exact element I need.

How can I achieve the same behavior as UI automation's UI Selector with Browser automation's UI Selector?

Some browser forms are part of web-based applications, allowing for the population of text on a webpage or window. The user interface depends on the website or web application. If the UI is not functioning, then one may need to resort to using a recorder or sending keystrokes.

With Click Link on web page in the Advanced Section you can tell the cursor where to position itself before clicking

For my current situation, I am trying to "Populate text field on web page".
The "Recorder" will not be the solution in this case as the Recorder's Selector selects the exact same (incorrect) elements as the Browser automation's UI Selector.
and I don't believe its possible to use keystrokes to send Text from a variable as how is PAD going to insert keys syntax for each number/letter.

I'm stumped and not sure how to keep moving forward here 😞

Thank you so much for your reply, I was super excited to test this out but For my current situation, I am trying to "Populate text field on web page". and of course PAD doesn't have the Mouse Position setting in "Populate text field on web page"...

I'm stumped and not sure how to keep moving forward.

HI @dylandev You can write a variable using send keys. You might want to set focus on the UI element first,

Setting focus was the step I was missing to just keep moving forward.
I decided to use "Launch new chrome" and Attach to the correct URL first then just used the UI automation to "Populate text field on web page".

My issue with UI automation & why I was trying to keep using Web forum filling's UI Selector(besides it was obviously selecting 200+ pixels under the correct element) was because the UI automation would select the wrong chrome instance.

To wrap it all up I am able to keep moving forward with my automation, although I would love to see PAD implement the ability to manually positing the selector for occurrences like this, similar to Mouse Position settings or possibly even better and more intuitive as just moving the selector box where it should if it is selecting incorrectly because in my case it selected the correct element but just populated or clicked 200+ pixels bellow the correct element.

I found This issue has to do with browser being in full screen mode/Maximized, if you switch to minimized chrome tab the selector will work properly. I recommend using these two to make it still somewhat be in full screen mode. I have no clue why Power Automate Desktop has this issue or the correct way to solve it but this workaround will keep you moving forward.
