Hi,
I have a large flow that I use as a ticketing system. Everything works fine on the form submission creating a task in planner with ticket updates from the Form, etc. I have an automated email letting Form submitters know that we have received their request. Also great. The problem is then that we have multiple planner tickets open at a time. I have set up Power Automate to send an email back to the Form submitter when we "close the ticket." This is great if we only have one planner ticket open. We often have the multiple. When that is the case, the trigger "when a task is completed" sends this automated email to all open tickets, when I only want it to send it to that one particular task/ticket. I've tried creating a condition just after the "when task is completed" trigger to only send the email for that particular ticket, but this doesn't seem to be working. Maybe I am using the wrong Task Id--i.e., the "update task details" Id rather than the original ID? (I will explore this as soon as I post, as I hadn't thought about it until I typed it out.) I've also now been thinking I need a separate flow, triggered at the beginning by "when a task is completed." The problem with this, though, is that I lose the "responders' email" from the original Form submission by creating this new Flow. I've tried to use the "compose" function along with initiate variables after ensuring the respondent's email is in the description to try and cull the email from that, but I must not be writing that function correctly.
Bottom line:
- I want a final email sent to the Form responder when I close an open planner task/ticket; I DON'T want it that email to be sent to remaining open tickets.
Any solution that can accomplish that I am open to! Thanks for reading!
Best,
Ambyr
