Restart PAD flow after x minutes

I have a PAD flow which is supposed to run 24/7 to export data from a server.

The issue I'm experiencing is that when the server is down (which happens randomly, or at planned times), the VBA script in PAD is just waiting for the next action, and does not stop, as the script is waiting for it's next input. This causes me to have to manually restart the PAD flow.

Is there any way to tell PAD that if the action has gone for longer than x (let's say 10 minutes), it's supposed to restart the action? The PAD flow is not unattended.

I have the same question (0)

Restart, or go to the next step, does not matter. I just don't want the flow to hang...

Since it's a VBA-script causing it to fail, maybe there is some VBA magic that could be added to the script?

    Hi @AlexTheKidd

Is this VBA-script triggered when you hit certain action, or is it always running?

If it's running via a trigger, you could try pinging the server with the Ping Action in PAD to see if you get a response from the server first before running the script. Repeat the ping at a set interval until you get a response

I found this chapter helpful, and page 5 of it shows how to work with the ping action

The script is run when it hits certain actions (aka, 15 minutes after the last script was run), so I can try the solution with the ping. Will have to wait until it happens again if it works - if so, I'll mark it as solved.

    Did not work.

I have decided to do a completely different route: I'll create a script in AutoHotKey to stop and start the PAD flow once per hour, just so I am sure that the longest sync time will be one hour, no matter if the server is down, as it'll try again an hour later.

Now I'll need to read the documentation for AHK.
