Hello,

I am currently experiencing an issue with my agent in Copilot Studio and I have not been able to identify the root cause.

The agent is no longer responding to user requests or questions using generative AI. At the moment, the only generative responses that are being produced are those explicitly defined within the flow where the "Create generative answers" step is used.

Once the agent finishes answering the questions within that flow, any additional user input results in the following message:

"Sorry, I can't find any related topic. Can you rephrase and try again?"

This behavior is new. Previously, the agent was able to generate responses outside of the specific flow without any issues.

Could you please help identify what might be causing this behavior or if there have been any recent changes affecting generative responses?

This could be a lot of things but here's where I would start.

1. That "Sorry, I can't find any related topic. Can you rephrase and try again?" probably comes from a particular topic, maybe fallback or unknown intent. Make sure whatever topic that is isn't being called unnecessarily.

2. If there's no apparent reason that topic is being called, try editing the main instructions to clarify what the agent can do. If you want it to answer general questions like "Why is the sky blue" say that.

3. This goes without saying, but generative AI should be on in settings.

4. Make another straightforward topic like "shark facts" or something that should be very obvious to the orchestrator. If copilot studio correctly calls that topic, you know the problem is in the topic descriptions and agent instructions.

The issue probably is coming from some copilot studio update, unfortunately that's just the nature of working with cutting edge platforms.
