How to keep data after a solution export?

I have a table that stores settings/configuration data for my Power Platfrom solution. I'm looking for a way store data in my table in such a way that the data will persist within the table once exported, and then imported to the target environment. Currently, when I export the solution, and then import it at the target environment, no data is present and the table is empty.

I have the same question (0)

    Hi @Jsquared ,

The only tool I know that will help you here without doing standard exporting / importing is the following:  https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-platform/admin/manage-configuration-data

    Hello @Jsquared

If you want to move configuration from one environment to another,

    1. try using ENVIRONMENT VARIABLE.

    2. Or else you can use AZURE PILELINE / CDS data movement tool https://xrmdynamicscrm.wordpress.com/2020/06/08/azure-devops-dynamics-automate-deployment-of-configuration-master-data-records/

    3. Export and import Excel manually.

    Hi @Jsquared ,

You cannot include data while exporting solution only it contains metadata properties of the components like table, webresources, cloud flow etc.

To migrate data from one instance to another, utilize OOB export to excel available in a table/apps or you can use configuration migration tool as @dpoggemann mentioned.Screenshot (7).jpg

If it answers your question. Kindly give kudo and accept it as solution.

    Regards,

    Prakash
