COE starter toolkit

Hi everyone, I have a few questions regarding the COE starter toolkit.

  • Account setup: Should we create a separate CoE admin/service account, or can I use my own work account (e.g.,xyz@ab.org.au) to deploy the toolkit?
  • Permissions: What level of access is required during installation? Does the account need ongoing permissions for the Global Admin or Power Platform Admin rights, or can these be removed once the setup is complete?
  • Configuration: Are there any specific configurations or permissions we should apply in the Power Platform Admin Center or Dataverse (such as System Admin roles or API access) during the setup process?
Your guidance and support on this would be greatly appreciated

It’s advisable to have a separate COE service account with the Power platform admin permissions and the correct licensing. This account is to be used only for the purpose of the COEStarterKit.

That way if you were to leave in the future, it wouldn’t be any hassle in changing over the account.

    Cheers,
    Adam

Use a separate admin account for setup. Global or Power Platform Admin rights are needed only during installation and can be removed later.

Thank you everyone for your responses, really appreciate the help! I have a couple of follow-up questions:

    1. I’m trying to set up the Audit Log connector using the Office 365 Management API, but I’m getting a 403 or 404 error. I’ve followed all the steps outlined in the Collect audit logs using Office 365 Management API – Power Platform | Microsoft Learn guide, so I’m not sure where I might be going wrong.

    2.  also tried to share the Power BI report on Friday but was unable to, I’m guessing this might be due to not having a Pro licence.

@Bezanca @CU21102014-0 @mmbr1606 - your help would be really appreciated!
