Unable to upload files to Agent created with Copilot Studio

We have created an agent using Copilot Studio that we are continuing to modify.  Post publishing, we are not able to upload or reference any files in OneDrive when accessing the agent from within the M365 Copilot iOS app.  We ARE able to do so while accessing the agent from the Windows and web versions of Copilot.  Other agents list in the iOS app have this capability.  Are we missing something, or is there a limitation to this functionality for some reason in the iOS app when working with custom agents?

This is a confirmed platform gap. File upload and OneDrive file referencing capabilities in M365 Copilot vary significantly across platforms, and the iOS app has more restricted file handling than Windows or web.

The key difference: the iOS M365 Copilot app has limited support for file uploads and OneDrive attachment in custom agent contexts. This is not specific to your agent configuration — it's a platform-level limitation of the iOS app's Copilot integration.

The fact that other agents show this capability and yours doesn't suggests there may also be a configuration element. Check:
    1. In Copilot Studio > Settings > Generative AI > verify File/Image input is enabled and republish

    2. Check if the other agents that work on iOS are M365 Copilot declarative agents vs Copilot Studio published agents, they use different hosting and have different capabilities on iOS

    3. Try fully removing the agent from Copilot and re-adding it after republishing in Copilot Studio

If the setting is correct and other Copilot Studio agents of the same type work on iOS, raise a Microsoft support ticket with the agent ID and the specific iOS app version. File upload parity across platforms is an active area of development.

    Based on your symptoms:
    • The agent works correctly on web and Windows.
    • Other built-in agents support file uploads on iOS.
    • Only custom Copilot Studio agents are affected.
This strongly indicates a current limitation or feature gap in the Microsoft 365 Copilot iOS app for custom Copilot Studio agents, rather than a misconfiguration

    in your agent.

    I would recommend:
    • Update the iOS app to the latest version.
    • Test with another custom agent to confirm.
    • Use the web or desktop client as a workaround.
    • Open a Microsoft Support ticket or monitor the Microsoft 365 release notes if this functionality is business critical, as mobile parity for custom agents is still evolving.

Thank you for the replies, Valantis and 11manish, much appreciated!  Your input matches my suspicions as I've already checked on each of these areas prior to posting.  I think it may be a current gap in at least the iOS Copilot release.  Unfortunately, we do not allow M365 web apps access from mobile devices, but I will come up with another plan.

    Cheers!

Glad we could confirm it wasn't a configuration issue on your end. Keep an eye on the Microsoft 365 release notes for iOS Copilot updates mobile parity for custom agents is an active area and this gap should close over time. Good luck with the workaround!
