Using platform libraries with standard controls

Hi forum,

🤔Yeah, right, hmm... On a whim I tried using the platform libraries with a standard control.

Surprisingly, I got the desired output! ✔️

However, it failed to load. 😭

Has anyone else tried something similar?

No. Is there a reason you don't just init with

    -fw React

    ?

Yes, and its complicated. But I am loving virtual controls and not having to bundle React and Fluent UI.

Well then, safe travels into the unknown. Keep us posted because even though I can't imagine why you need to do this, I am pretty curious how it turns out!

It was an idea that I spent 5 minutes exploring and I thought I would share. It was scuttled shortly afterwards.

We are using it this way - platform libraries with standard controls. The only difference is that instead of importing react-dom, we do `const ReactDOM = window.ReactDOM`. And React is imported normally - pcf-scripts replace it with `window.React` automatically. Works in Power Apps just fine. I am however more concerned about the future of platform libraries.
