I want to integrate the Copilot agent with a WhatsApp Business account. I have already created the Azure Communication Service and added my WhatsApp phone number there.
Now, for integrating Copilot Agent with the WhatsApp channel, I have learned that I need to change the authentication to "Authentication Manually".

But, it requires below details. Can someone please help me what should I add to this sections.

I have the same question (0)

The “Authentication: Manually” fields in Copilot Studio are meant for securing a custom API endpoint, not for WhatsApp integration itself.

To integrate a Copilot agent with WhatsApp via Azure Communication Services, you need a middleware layer (such as an API or Power Automate flow) that

receives WhatsApp messages, calls the Copilot agent, and sends responses back.

The authentication settings are only required if you are exposing your agent through a secured API.

To integrate your Copilot Studio agent with a WhatsApp Business account, you need to complete two main pieces:
    1. Connect your WhatsApp Business account to Azure Communication Services (ACS).
    2. Publish your Copilot agent to WhatsApp using the WhatsApp channel in Copilot Studio.
First, make sure you’ve followed all the prerequisites and connection steps for WhatsApp in Azure Communication Services, including connecting your WhatsApp Business Account, verifying the phone number, and waiting until the channel status is Active. The full prerequisite and setup steps are documented here:
    https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/communication-services/concepts/advanced-messaging/whatsapp/whatsapp-channel-prerequisites

Once ACS and WhatsApp are configured, you can publish your Copilot agent to WhatsApp from Copilot Studio. In Copilot Studio, set your agent’s authentication to either No authentication or Authenticate manually, publish the agent, and then go to Channels → WhatsApp and follow the wizard to link it to your existing WhatsApp phone number from ACS. The detailed Copilot Studio steps are described here:

    Thank you for guiding me.

My ACS WhatsApp channel status is "Display name review not started". Can someone please guide me how can I get it activate? Do I need to contact Meta for this or is it require some configuration from Meta Business Suite.

When your ACS WhatsApp status shows “Display name review not started”, it usually means WhatsApp (Meta) hasn’t received your business display name for approval yet. This is a Meta-side step and doesn’t start automatically just because you set things up in Azure or Copilot Studio.

By this point, you’ve likely already:
    • Set up Azure Communication Services (ACS)
    • Added your WhatsApp phone number in ACS

However, the display name review is fully controlled by Meta. Azure and Copilot Studio only show the status; they don’t trigger or manage the review process.

Actions required in Meta (not Azure)
To move past “Display name review not started,” the key is to complete the setup in Meta Business Manager / WhatsApp Manager. Nothing you configure in ACS or Copilot Studio will start this review; they simply reflect whatever status Meta has for your number.

How to get your WhatsApp display name reviewed
    1. Open Meta Business ManagerGo to: https://business.facebook.com -> Confirm that: Your business is verified.  -> You have admin access to the correct Business Account

    2. Open WhatsApp Manager
    • In Business Manager, navigate to:
Business Settings → WhatsApp Accounts → [Your WhatsApp Account]

    3. Submit your display name
    • Go to Phone Numbers
    • Select the same phone number you connected in ACS
    • Enter your display name using these guidelines: Use your legal company name or your main brand name -> Avoid emojis, taglines, slogans, or extra marketing text
    • Submit the display name for review
After you submit it, the status will move through something like:
    • “Review not started” → “In review” → “Approved”
This can take from a few minutes up to around 24 hours (sometimes a bit longer, depending on the account).

    4. Check the status again in ACS
    • Once Meta approves your display name, ACS will automatically refresh and show the updated status
    • You do not need to change or reconfigure anything in Azure or Copilot Studio for this update to happen
