Power Apps → Business Central (Production): Permission Error for One User Despite Matching Roles

Hi Everyone.

We’re encountering a permission-related issue in the Production environment where a single user is unable to push data from a Power Apps Canvas App to Dynamics 365 Business Central.

Error message:

Error when trying to retrieve data from the network: ErrorCode: Internal_ServerError. You do not have permission to access the metadata because you do not have access to a company.

Key details:

  • The issue affects only one user; all other users with the same setup can push data successfully.

  • The affected user has the same Business Central security roles and permissions as other salespersons.

  • As part of troubleshooting, the user was temporarily assigned:

  • SUPER permission in Business Central

  • System Administrator role in Power Apps. The error still persists.

  •

Has anyone experienced a similar issue or have ideas on what could cause this behavior for a single user despite identical roles and elevated permissions?

I have the same question (1)

In your case I understand you are saying you have the roles, but can you please validate the actual companies they have access too.

Go to the user in this error, click on the permissions they have, look at the companies that are listed, and add the one that is missing.

There is NO permission you can give them that will negate the need to have the company listed in their permissions.

    That is the issue.

If these suggestions help resolve your issue, Please consider Marking the answer as such and also maybe a like.

    Thank you!
    Sincerely, Michael Gernaey

    Thanks for your response.
I just verified in the users table and found that none of the users who "Don't have this issue" have the company selected beside their permissions.
So all the users have almost the same pattern.
