Adding users to environment with security group but no premium license

Hello All,

I am working to set up a new environment for some of my users, but am having issues with access. We have extra capacity licenses to cover the environment, but our users only have G3(E3) standard licenses. I know this restricts them to standard connectors, but that is fine for this case. We have a security group established to restrict access to the environment.

My problem is that I can add users to the environment access security group, and the security group is set up as a team, with the maker role assigned at the team level. Per the documentation, the only way a user would automatically get added to the environment is if they have some sort of premium license. Otherwise, I have to manually add each user under users, or have them access a link directly to the environment maker portal (since it won't show on their list of available environments). The security roles seem to be functioning per the team they are a member of.

Is there any better way to do this? I don't want to add each user after adding them to the security group. I know the direct environment link works for just in time provisioning, but "its difficult" for some users.

I have the same question (0)

Did you try using the sync option of the users.

You can use the flow Template "Force sync Azure Active directory group members to specific CDS instance".

Go to https://make.powerautomate.com/ and search within the templates.

This should help you to sync the users from the group to CDS instance.

Thank you. I will look into this. We don't have this template in GCC, so I had to grab it from my developer tenant. I am now blocked by app registration for entra ID connector (not global admin), so I have asked to have that allowed.
