Hi, I am looking to search one entity in D365 through business number, and display account or contact field text and managing entity text on gallery, however, it is difficult to display since the two fields are lookup fields, please advise.

    Hi @sdnd2000 ,

    Are you trying to get the output in Model-Driven App or Canvas App.

    Let's say it is Model Driven App,

    • If you want to store the Text Values of the Lookup, write JS/Plugin/Field-Map to achieve this.
    • In-case, you don't want to store value in text field but want text value of lookup. JS will help, use formula as
    formContext.getAttribute("<attributeName>").getValue()[0].name;

    Let's say its Canvas App,

    • If the Lookup Name already has Text value, you will get directly.
    • If you need some different Text Value, then use <Field>.Name. This '.' operator will access the fields within that entity/table

    Hope this is understandable

    It is canvas app, I got the below error with the formula, the same error with managing entity.

    Yes @sdnd2000 ,

    ThisItem.'Account or Contact' is your Lookup Field

    Now use '.' operator and access all the fields within 'Account or Contact' Table.

    ThisItem.'Account or Contact'.Name
    or
    ThisItem.'Account or Contact'.Status

    and so-on...

    Hope this helps

    @Ethan_R

    Sorry, 'Account or Contact' is a customer field in D365, while 'managing entity' is a lookup, and there is no other field after "."
