Using an Existing standard Contact table

I'm new to using Dataverse.

When using existing "Contact" standard table, I added a new lookup column within the Contact table. When I go back, I don't see the new Lookup column under Custom filtering but when I select Relationships, I see the lookup column under there.
So my questions to the community:

1. Why is this lookup column not showing up under columns for "Contact" table but you can see it under Relationships?

2. Is this the correct way of using a "Standard" table that is provided to you to add additional columns?

Thank you!!!

    Hi @Anonymous ,

Can you provide a screen shot here?  Yes, you can add columns to the standard entity and this is expected approach as you create relationships to other entities.  You should see the column in your list of columns on that Contact Table.  Did you try "searching" for it with search to see if it shows?  Is this in the newly rolled out interface as I do not see the options to filter based on "All, Custom, Default" anymore in the new layout (see below):

I did add the "Test" field as a lookup to another entity and it shows in this user interface under Columns.  This was in the Account entity...
