After change of service mail ID flow failed

Posted on by 2
There is a Power Automate flow with a 'Send an email' action, where I changed the existing service email ID to a new one. After making this change, the flow is failing and showing an error "The user account which was used to submit this request does not have the right to send mail on behalf of the specified sending account., Cannot submit message."
How can I resolve this issue?

    Hi,

Your power automate flow can only send messages on your behalf or through an account you have the permissions.  As an example, I cannot send an email on behalf of a co-worker because then I would have complete access to their 365 account (they would have to give me their PW).

You can use a service account (instead of your account), just update the connection string to the service account.  Another popular alternative is to use Send-As field and send emails from a no-reply account (again, you have permissions to send/receive from it).

Last option is to use the connection string for a shared-inbox and send messages from there.  So here's a recap of your options:

    1) as you with a send-as option
    2) as you with send-as and reply-to options
    3) service account
    4) service account with a reply-to option
    5) use a shared inbox

Let me know if that helps!
