Hello,

I have faced several issues with PAD Excel actions because they do not have a "Timeout" property and sometimes flows can be stuck in them.

For example, if any pop-up appear when trying to close an Excel file using the "Close Excel" action, the flow will be stuck in that action for ever until the cloud activity for running the desktop flow times out. The same has happen to me with other actions as "Activate sheet".

So, is there a way to suggest to the PAD development team to include this property to this actions? It is something that is present on almost all of the available actions in PAD and I do not see a reason to not have it in the Excel actions as well.

What do you think about this? It is very frustrating when a flow is stuck because of this and you have to come up with workarounds to avoid it and not use the built-in Excel actions.

It does in fact make sense. Happens when launching a shared document that is locked for editing by someone else, too. If you want to provide feedback to the product team, you can try creating an idea here: https://ideas.powerautomate.com/d365community/forum/086dd68e-597f-ec11-8d21-0022482e8f9f (make sure you check for an existing idea first, and upvote it if you find it), as well as simply providing feedback via the feedback hub in PAD:

Other than that, you can also set a timeout to a PAD flow now with version 2.45 via the flow properties:

This will terminate the flow if it times out. So, if you are cool with that, this could also be a temporary option for you to use, until some other form of timeout is implemented to the relevant actions.
