Hey guys,

I'm running into a "File too large error" when trying to automate attaching a 3mb attachment into a draft email. Looking online, I am seeing that the attachment limit is 5mb and im wondering if there is somewhere I need to go to expand the limit?? I do have global admin for this environment so anything you guys can suggest will be helpful.

Also, I absolutely need to attach these attachments into the drafted email. Sending a link/uploading to Sharepoint is not an option.

With standard actions you will hit the limit, usually the base64 will increase the size of the file, that's why you facing the issue but you can give a try using Microsoft Graph API, check below link for your reference

For Outlook and Graph API, normal "add attachment" only works for files under 3 MB.

Above that, you need to use an upload session and send the file in chunks. Works up to 150 MB. There's no admin setting to change this.

If you need to attach the actual file (not just a link),

    try this:

    1. Create the draft email

    2. Call POST /me/messages/{id}/attachments/createUploadSession

    3. Upload chunks to the URL it gives you

    4.

Let me know if you need help setting this up.

Just wanted to check in and see if everything is working now. If you still need any help, feel free to let me know.

Also, if the issue is resolved, it would be great if you could mark the answer as solved so others with the same question can find it easily.

Thanks and have a great day!
