Hello Community Experts,

There is a requirement where i have to automate flow to update a Power BI parameter on a datasets

Presently users click Datasets Name>Settings>Parameter>Update and after that to trigger datasets refresh, wait and then go back to the report, the client wants this whole process to be automated.

It should use the credentials of the user that triggered the flow for the above process

How do i achieve this requirement I'm new to power BI

Kindly Advise

Best Regards,

Sumaira Noor

    Hi @Sumaira,

    Unfortunately, Power BI connector in Flow is still in preview step, there are only two actions could do are Add rows to a dataset and Refresh a dataset, so your requirement couldn't satisfied.

    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/connectors/powerbi/

    Is this approach available now, its been 3 years. Did someone find a different solution to this request.

    Thanks

    I'm looking for the same solution. I need to refresh a Power BI dataset that uses data parameters. I need to pass different dates each week. It's a non-foldable query so I cannot use the native Power BI incremental refresh.

    For my purposes, I use the current date to calculate the past Sunday and the Monday three weeks ago to get my start and end dates.

    End_Date="& ""&DateMap(Date.AddDays(Date.EndOfWeek(DateTime.LocalNow(),1),-7))&"" &
    "&Start_Date=" & ""&DateMap(Date.AddDays(Date.EndOfWeek(DateTime.LocalNow(),1),-34))
