How to alter icon of site map of custom page in model driven app?

I want to change the icon of a custom page inserted in the site map of a model driven app.
The online site map editor doesnt support custom pages and if I change the icon using the xrmtoolbox site map editor the icon doesnt change?
Why?
Is this feature not supported?

    I was able to fix the issue by adding the icon via app editor.
