As a workaround I would logon to the specific Power Automate environment in a browser on the same machine and to try adding it from there.

I was tried to add from there also but not able to add.
Just to double check. Are you meeting the permission and environments pre-requisites?

Users will need either an Environment Maker or Desktop Flow Machine Owner role to register machines. Before registering a machine, make sure that you have the required permissions, and there is an available environment to register the new machine.
