Attachments for all my apps just broke!

Hello All,

I just noticed that my attachment control in all my forms in all my apps has broken. Is anyone else having this issue? I tried deleting the attachment control from my form and adding it back in, still get an error. Any help!

Can you try changing the reference from YourControlName to YourControlName.Attachments.

SharePoint. I just changed the Patch to SubmitForm and that worked but I have other apps where it's not that easy and I can't just SubmitForm.

Hi @nleuck_101,

This is a known platform change that broke a very common pattern.

The old trick of adding a form, copying the Attachment control out of it, then removing the form no longer works. The control loses its proper Table(Attachment) type when used outside a form context, which is exactly what that error is telling you.
The workaround is to keep the form in your app but make it invisible.

Set its Visible property to false and keep it on a hidden screen or behind other controls. The Attachment control needs to stay inside the form to function correctly.

You then reference the form's attachment data from elsewhere in your app via the form's DataCard.

Here are two solutions that I have found to work.

1. Use SubmitForm. This works for me in some cases.

2. If using Patch. Remove the Attachment from Patch and add FormName.Updates at the end of the Patch

Ex. Patch(ListName, Defaults(ListName), { column1: DataCardValue, column2:, DataCardValue, etc...}, FormName.Updates)
